Leslie Murphy, CAE Executive Director director@ndadarts.com ext. 120
Responsibilities As Executive Director, I am responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the Association. This includes: Working with the NDA Board of Directors, Committees and Task Forces as we work to achieve NDA’s goals. Serving as a liaison to groups and partners within the industry. Administering office operations of the NDA to provide quality programs and service to the membership. Serving, in conjunction with the NDA President, as the spokesperson for the Association. Acting as the NDA’s chief financial officer.
About Me I have worked managing associations for more than 20 years, including my work since September 1997 to December 2006 at the NDA. I have been fortunate to be recognized by my peers receiving the ISAE Staff Professionalism Award; Volunteer of the Year and Association Executive of the Year. On a national level, I chaired the American Society of Association Executive’s Certified Association Executive (CAE) Commission and was honored with the distinction of being named an ASAE Fellow for my contributions to the profession. I grew up in southern Indiana and attended Indiana University where I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration. My immediate family moved to Clearwater, Florida after I started college and still lives in that area. My husband Tim is also an association executive and CAE, serving as the Executive Director for a state trade association. What is Important to Me Spending time with friends and our two adorable cocker spaniels. What I like to do with my free time Volunteering is my primary hobby. In addition to my professional volunteer activities I am active with my church and International Sorority, having held numerous officer positions in both. Tim and I like to ride bikes and meet with friends. I’m also a huge fan of all the cooking shows and like to try out new recipes (or better yet convince my husband to cook instead!) |
