Actual Darts Thrown: Counting the actual darts that are used, not passed, in a match. Only approved means of tracking feats for the NDA's Dart Tournament.
Blocked: A player is blocked when his/her partner's score is higher than the combined score of their opponents. The player may still throw to get his/her points lower but cannot go out without losing the game because of his/her partner's high score. The following will results in a loss: When a player reaches 0 but his or her partner's score is not equal to or lower than their opponents combined score. Remember, you can go out on a tie. Classified League: Any league that consists of teams with similar or closely matched team averages.
Closed: When a team has scored 3 Marks on the same number or Bull's Eye in Cricket.
Darthead: The playing area of the dart game at which darts are thrown to produce a score.
Feats: Various darting accomplishments. (See 101 & Cricket Feats)
Four Round Out: When a player wins an '01 game in four rounds.
Free Rule: Relates to '01 games. (See: Frozen or Blocked)
Frozen: A player is frozen when his/her partner's score is at higher than the combined score of their opponents. Games: The individual components of a dart match.
Geographic League: Any league that consists of teams from the same area or location of town.
Hattrick: Three bullseyes scored in one round. Any combination of three single or double bullseyes counts as a hattrick (A hattrick does not count as a low ton).
Highest Out: Highest score to go out in a game or series.
High Ton: A score of 151 to 180 points in one round.
Hits Per Round: The number of darts that hit active segments, divided by number of darts thrown.
Ladies: Teams consisting of only females.
League: All teams that compete directly against each other in a season.
League Division: Teams in a specified combination or skill level.
League System: All of the leagues run by one operator, not just NDA or Team Dart leagues.
Low Ton: A score of 100 to 150 points in one round (excluding a hattrick)
Mark: Any throw that registers on a number either to help close the number or score points. The Single segment portion of the Cricket number scores 1 mark. The Doubles segment scores 2 marks while the Triple segment scores 3 marks. The outer portion of the bull's-eye scores 1 mark and the inner section scores 2 marks.
Match: The sum total of games playeed per league night.
Mixed: Teams made up of a set number of male and females, depending on league type (e.g., Mixed Doubles is onfe female and one male, but Mixed Triples could be two femails and one male or two males and one female.)
Modem: A device that carries serial data over phone lines from one computer (or other data transfer device) to another.
MPR: Marks Per Round - The system for averaging the "marks" that a player throws each turn in a game of cricket. The higher the MPR, the better the player. It is calculated by taking the total marks scored divided by the actual darts thrown, then multiplying it by 3.
NDA: National Dart Association.
Open: Teams made up of any combination of males and/or females.
PPD: Point Per Dart: The system for averaging the points that a player throws each dart in an '01 game. The higher the PPD, the better the player. It is calculated by total points scored divided by the number of actual darts thrown.
Passed Darts: Darts not thrown during a round or game for one reason or another.
Round: This is defined as a player/team's turn during a game. Each player has the option of throwing 0, 1, 2, or 3 darts each round.
Segment: Any of the active pieces in the darthead, which when hit, cause a score or mark, depending on the game played (usually red or black in color).
Spot Darts: A way of handicapping players, teams, and leagues. The better the player the fewer the darts he/she are permitted to throw at the beginning of the game.
Spot round: The first or opening rounds of a spot handicapped game.
Stat Card: A memory card that can store 8000 characters of data.
Stats or Statistics: The player and team information kept for rating and awards.
Stuck Segment: A segment in the darthead which is being held closed for some reason. It may be freed by moving the segment with a finger, or by pushing a dart into the segment and using it as a lever to attempt to move the segment. If it cannot be freed in this manner, a service technician must be called.
Three in a Bed: Three darts in any one triple segment in one round.
Ton 80: Three darts in the triple 20 segment in one round (also counts as high ton).
Turn: A player is entitled to a maximum of 3 darts per turn. A player may opt to throw 0, 1, 2, 3 or darts.
Unclosed: When a team has 2 or less Marks on a number or bull's eye.
Whitehorse: When a player hits three different unmarked triples in one round of Cricket to equal 9 marks (9 mark round is not given).
5,6,7,8,9 Mark Round: the number of marks scored in one round.
6,7,8,9,10,11,12 Dart Out: The number of darts thrown to win a game.
